22nd July 2020
As previously communicated to you, the date for the Confirmation ceremony of your son/daughter has been set for 11am on the following dates:
- Saturday, 15th August (Ms. O’Meara’s / Ms. O’Neill’s Class)
- Saturday, 22nd August (Mr. Kelly’s Class)
- Saturday, 29th August (Ms. Fitzpatrick’s Class)
It is essential that you confirm your attendance as soon as possible by emailing me at email@example.com
Given the current restrictions of numbers in indoor spaces, every available seat will be accounted for.
To that end, ONLY the child’s parents and sponsor may attend. If one of the parents is the sponsor, ONE other may attend. One way or the other, under no circumstances can there be more than four in the group, ie. the child plus three others. Please do not necessitate anyone being refused entry.
In keeping with government (and church) guidelines re social distancing, please follow the direction of the ushers as you enter and leave the church. Please arrive in good time for the 11am ceremony, as the seating procedure may take a bit of time. While not mandatory, we are strongly recommending the use of facial coverings inside the church. People are asked not to linger in the church or in the carpark afterwards, and so there will be no opportunity for group photographs, unfortunately. I suggest family photographs be taken at home. I feel awful having to impose all these restrictions, but these are the times we live in, and the safety of all is paramount. I know I can count on your understanding and co-operation.
For the same reasons, this year’s Confirmation ceremonies will be shortened and simplified. Nevertheless, we will do our utmost to make this important occasion as memorable an event as possible.
In the meantime I encourage those to be confirmed to watch the video sent by the diocese on the following link: https://www.icatholic.ie/come-holy-spirit-episode-1/
Looking forward to seeing you all on the day.
