On Friday the 20th of May, Milford NS captured the Olo Cup for the 1st time in our history. The final score was 3-4 to 1-4 and as the scoreline suggests, we were matched all the way by a gallant Patrickswell side who gave their all to the final whistle. A virtuoso performance by team captain Eric Stritch paved the way for the win as he scored 3 goals. Most pleasing was the team performance as everyone worked hard to deliver our 1st ever title.
The final whistle was met with scenes of unbridled joy as supporters, parents and team mates rushed onto the field to celebrate. The celebrations continued on our return to school with our homecoming in the school gym.
The boys will play in the Mayor’s Cup next week. The Leader Cup semi final will take place on Wednesday the 15th June in Rathkeale at 12.30pm. Thanks to everyone for all their support and effort this year. Thanks also to Julie Lavelle for her wonderful slideshow of the day.
